Piet Fuchs

Piet Fuchs (* 1964 in Brühl ) is a German actor , DJ , author , filmmaker and presenter . He is a member of the so-called " Cologne Group ", a loose association of independent Cologne filmmakers. His film debut was the documentary Rudi Rastlos - The ball rolls for Rwanda over the soccer coach and globetrotter Rudi Gutendorf .

Life

Piet Fuchs is the second of three children of the civil engineer Diether Fuchs and the teacher Heidi Fuchs (née Ziegler). He grew cosmopolitan in Cologne (1964–65), Abu Simbel (Egypt, 1965–68), Hamburg (1968–72), Fray Bentos (Uruguay, 1972/73), again Cologne (1973/74) and Koblenz (1974– 83), where he passed his Abitur in 1983 and then completed his community service in the care sector. He has lived in Cologne since 1985. From 1985 to 1993, Fuchs studied philosophy, German studies and economics at the University of Cologne (Master's degree in 1993 on the world of quotations from Alexander Kluge - as text and video). 1986–1993 Fuchs was part of the authors' workshop at Cologne University as an author.

From 1990 to 2000, Piet Fuchs learned his trade as an actor with various acting teachers (including Keith Johnstone at the Loose Moose Theater , John Costopoulos at the Actors Studio in New York and Jim Boerlin at the Berghof Actors Studio NY as well as with the directors Arno Kleinofen and Thomas Ulrich ) . From 1995 to 1997 he was engaged as a clown by the artist theater Luftkuss and played a leading role as a silent film director in the production When Hearts Fly . Since 1998, Piet Fuchs has played as an actor in over a hundred cinema, TV and Internet productions. At the same time, he made various short films, music videos and documentaries for the Cologne group with his production company next movie .

In 1992/93, Fuchs headed the film workshop and the university cinema of the Studiobühne + Filmwerkstatt at the University of Cologne. There he directed his first short films with Frank Tönsmann from 1990 to 1993, Zwergenblut 2 , Asphaltfritten and the fake documentary There is nothing to regret - Helmut Weidling's films , which were shown at festivals and partly on television. At the same time, he began to work as an active member of the 813 film club.

In 1993 Piet Fuchs founded the CutCologne film production with six other filmmakers and produced, among other things, the feature film Something is Always (Director: Christoph Weber ), which was shown at the Hof Festival in 1994 and in Gothenburg in 1995 .

From 1995 to 1997 Piet Fuchs studied screenwriting and directing at the Art Academy for Media Cologne (KHM; post-graduate studies) and founded his own production company, the film production next movie . His KHM thesis, the short film musical Love is a matter of taste (co-director: Bernhard Marsch ), was shown at international festivals and on television and was part of a short film program by the Cologne group.

On the side, Piet Fuchs produced from 1995 to 2005 as a freelance writer and copywriter for Super-RTL (including the comedy spot series Neulich ... and that too ... ).

Piet Fuchs is also active as a moderator at film festivals and organizer of film-political discussions (e.g. at the German Academy for Television ). He has u. a. from 1998 to 2007 moderated at the Filmfest Dresden and moderated annually since 2007 at the Max-Ophüls-Preis in Saarbrücken. In autumn 2015 he moderated the 2015 Cinema Program Award in Dresden.

Since 1997, Piet Fuchs has been a DJ p-bone part of the DJ collective Soulsauce with the DJ home base Kahnstation / Blücherpark Cologne. The Soulsauce collective also includes the DJs Dr. Maraseque ( Christian Mrasek ), Pierre Legere ( Peter Niggemann ) and Warm Cola ( Jukka Schmidt ).

Most recently, Piet Fuchs played the CEO of the fictional company HG Business Consulting , Raphael Gamper, in the ZDF satirical program Neo Magazin Royale .
