Bernhard Jürgen Marsch (born April 15, 1962 in Hennef ) is a German filmmaker , screenwriter , film producer and actor .

After graduating from high school in 1981, he did his community service as a paramedic at the Siegburg fire and rescue station until 1983. He then sat in on the local editorial offices of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger (as Rhein-Sieg-Anzeiger) and the General-Anzeiger (Bonn) in Siegburg to gain initial experience as a journalist and local reporter, taking Egon Erwin Kisch as a role model.

He spent the summer of 1983 in Paris because he was attracted to French cinema, especially the films of the Nouvelle Vague .

From autumn of the same year he began a short academic interlude in Cologne as a student of economics . After successfully passing the intermediate examination, however, he decided to systematically turn to the cinema through life, work and analysis.

At the end of 1985 he became a member of the Kölner Filmhaus , where he was able to make his first short film Kölner Bewegungs [Cologne Moves] the following year . From his acquaintance with Rainer Knepperges in 1987, the film Marsch & Knepperges Show emerged. In 1990 he was a founding member of the Cologne Film Club 813 and has been the engine of the Cologne Group since the mid-1990s , a loose association of Cologne filmmakers, which can be defined less through targeted cooperation than through the individual films of all - seen in context.

In addition, since the mid-1980s he has appeared in front of the camera in numerous short and long films for cinema and television.

At times he tours Germany with his short film program Olle Kamellen - short films by and with Bernhard Marsch for over 20 years .

His surrealist work Amigo a Gogo , which pays homage to Salvador Dalí and Luis Buñuel's film Un Chien Andalou, An Andalusian Dog , is named as a highlight in his filmmaking .

In February 2009 he was the stand-up comedian Neo Dampf in the Festival vom Invisbaren Menschen program on the theater stages of the Munich Kammerspiele.

His first feature- length film Patchouli - Summer, Sex and Socialism is constantly in preparation. There is now a second feature- length film script: Mr. Bijoux or a man with options .

In the fall of 2013 he was seen in the episode The Chinese Princess in the TV series Tatort .
