NGC 5618 is a 13.5 mag barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Virgo and about 317 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on March 23, 1789 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "eF, S".
