NGC 5622 is a 13.2 mag bright spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Bear Keeper and about 178 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on May 15, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "vF, pS, lE".
