NGC 5645 is a 12.2 mag bright barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBcd in the constellation Virgo and about 61 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on April 13, 1784 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflecting telescope, who described it as "faint, pretty large, nearly round, easily resolvable".
