NGC 5626 is a 13.1 mag bright lenticular galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 / a in the constellation Water Snake south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 303 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on March 30, 1835 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, who noted "eF, R, 20 arcseconds".
