NGC 5691 = NGC 5632 is a 11.3 mag bright barred spiral galaxy with H-II regions of the Hubble type SBa / P in the constellation Virgo . It is an estimated 83 million light years from the Milky Way .
It was discovered on April 11, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "pB, pL, iF". The observation of George Bond on May 9, 1853 led to the second catalog entry under NGC 5632 .
