NGC 5687 is an 11.7 mag bright, lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type E-S0 in the constellation Bear Keeper and about 102 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on April 24, 1789 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflecting telescope, who described it as "pB, S, iF, easily resolved, mixed with some pL stars, which may perhaps belong to it".
