NGC 5674 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Virgo . It is an estimated 334 million light years away from the Milky Way .
The galaxy was discovered on May 12, 1793 by the astronomer William Herschel with the help of his 18.7-inch reflector telescope and was later included in his New General Catalog by Johan Dreyer .
