NGC 5683 is a 15.2 likes bright lenticular Seyfert galaxy (type 1) from the Hubble type SB0-aim the constellation Bootes and about 491 million light years away from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on April 13, 1850 by George Stoney , an assistant to William Parsons .
