NGC 5716 is a 13.0 likes bright barred spiral galaxy with pronounced emission lines from the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Libra .
It was discovered on May 7, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "cF, S, R, sp and joining two small stars".
