NGC 5741 is a 13.6 mag bright elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Libra on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 348 million light years from the Milky Way and about 115,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by Francis Leavenworth on June 12, 1885 .
