NGC 5749 is an open cluster of Trumpler type IV1p in the constellation Wolf at the southern sky . NGC 5749 is 10 'in diameter and has an apparent magnitude of 8.8 mag. The cluster is around 3,400 light years from the solar system.

The object was discovered on May 7th, 1826 by James Dunlop .
