NGC 5770 is a 12.2 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Virgo and about 66 million light-years from the Milky Way center.

It was discovered on April 29, 1786 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "F, S, LE, like 2 stellar, joined closely".
