NGC 5791 is a 11.7 likes bright elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E6 in the constellation Libra on the ecliptic and about 147 million light-years from the Milky Way center.
It was discovered on May 19, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "cF, smbM, stellar".
