NGC 5803 is a 14.8 mag bright lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type E-S0 in the constellation Libra at the ecliptic and is an estimated 339 million light years away from the Milky Way .

It was discovered by Francis Leavenworth on May 2, 1785 .
