NGC 5793 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Libra on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 154 million light years away from the Milky Way and is classified as a so-called Seyfert Galaxy.
The object was discovered in 1886 by the astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth using a 66 cm telescope.
