NGC 5788 is a 14.9 likes bright barred spiral galaxy of Hubble type SBb in the constellation Bootes .
Together with the galaxy NGC 5783, which is only about a fifth that distant, it forms an optical double galaxy and was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on April 21, 1887 .
