NGC 5595 is a 12.0 mag bared spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Libra and about 118 million light years from the Milky Way. It is in gravitational interaction with NGC 5597 and was discovered together with it on May 14, 1784 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who marked it with "Two, Np - Sf The following eF, 1 ′ diameter, nearly round.
