NGC 5593 is an open star cluster (type definition “OCL III1p”) in the constellation Wolf and about 850 parsecs from Earth. It was discovered by James Dunlop on June 5, 1826 . On July 8th, 1834, John Herschel noted during his observation with an 18-inch reflector telescope: “a poor, coarse cluster, which is the most condensed part of a rich region of stars 10th mag. Place of a double star in the following part ".
