Herbert Wähner

Herbert Wähner (born March 28, 1961 in Steyr , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian engraver and coin designer.

Life

Herbert Wähner graduated from the technical school for metal design in Steyr. In 1984 he was hired by the then chief engraver Alfred Zierler at the Austrian Mint (at that time the main mint ) and has been working there as an engraver ever since. He also works for the Gibraltar Mint. Over the years he has won several prizes such as: B. Coin of the Year and Krause Award . One of his most famous works is the design of the obverse of the city ​​of Hall's first 25 euro niobium coin .
