Loose Moose Theater

The Loose Moose Theater Company (LMTC) is a theater company in Calgary, Canada that was founded in 1977 by Keith Johnstone and veterinarian Mel Tonken. The LMTC, which is internationally known for improvisational theater , developed several improvisational formats under the direction of Keith Johnstone, including theater sport, micro, gorilla theater and life game.

The LMTC plays in-house and on tours . It also offers a training center for improvisational theater. You have long been producing a children's series on weekends and a series of improvised comic theater. They also perform various improvisation-based plays. In March 2010 the International Improvisation Summit and an improvisation marathon took place, which at 52 hours was the longest of its kind.

They originally resided in the Pumphouse theater. Then they moved to a room in an industrial complex in northwest Calgary, near the airport. Due to a lack of space and failed lease negotiations, the LMTC moved into the historic Garry Theater in the Inglewood district. In 2005 LMTC moved to a new performance space in the Calgary Crossroads Market.

Since 1988 LMTC has hosted the two-week summer course Loose Moose International Improvisation Intensive , which brings people from all over the world to Calgary. Many former members of the LMTC now work in film, television and theater. Former members of the ensemble are:
