Ulrike Kriener
Ulrike Kriener (born December 24, 1954 in Bottrop ) is a German actress .
Life
Kriener grew up in Oberhausen . From 1976 to 1979 she was trained as an actress at the drama school in Hamburg . The director Berengar Pfahl hired her in 1977 while she was still training for his television multi-parter Britta . She played the closest friend of the title character portrayed by Verena Plangger . She then took on leading roles in several of Pfahl's productions. After drama school she went to the Schloßtheater in Moers , in 1983 to the Städtische Bühnen in Freiburg im Breisgau and later to the Residenztheater in Munich . Doris Dörrie engaged her in 1985 for her film In the Interior of the Whale . The following work with the director Dörrie brought her the final breakthrough with the hit comedy Men , in which she plays the wife of Heiner Lauterbach .
Since 2003 she has played the title role in the ZDF Saturday crime series Kommissarin Lucas ; 29 episodes were broadcast by May 2020. In 2008 she was seen in the TV series Die Gustloff , directed by Joseph Vilsmaier, alongside Michael Mendl , Kai Wiesinger and Dana Vávrová as naval helper Berta Burkat.
Ulrike Kriener has been married to the director and actor Georg Weber since 1992 . In the same year, the couple lost their first son shortly after their birth. The second son Paul was born in 1995. Ulrike Kriener has been the patron of the Malteser Children's Hospice in Munich since 2005 . In addition, she supports the Costura! e. V. - Association for the support of Brazilian women and their children . She is an ambassador for the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign .
