Last meal is a German thriller by Hartmut Griesmayr from 2002. It is the 237th episode in the film series Police 110 and the 18th case for the Halle Commissioners decorations and tailoring .

action

While restaurant owner Marco Witte is having a picnic on the banks of the Saale with his wife Laura , two masked men suddenly appear. They knock him down and kidnap Laura Witte. The police intervened immediately and Schmücke and Schneider took on the case. The perpetrator sent a text message asking him to keep a million ransom money ready. For the commissioners, it seems surprising that Witte openly presents his girlfriend, the psychologist Eva Berner. Apparently his wife knew about it and would have tolerated it.

Schmücke and Schneider first examine the possibility of extortion, which would not be unusual for bars of Witte's size. Before they can achieve anything in this direction, Laura Witte's body is found. Shortly afterwards, the passport varnish, well-known in the protection money scene, is targeted by the investigators. However, he denies going to a murder. Since there is nothing provable against him, Passlack remains at large. When Schmücke and Schneider want to question him again, he is killed beforehand. Stabbed with the same knife as Laura Witte.

Although the commissioners have no concrete clue, many small indications point more and more to a relationship act that should only be disguised as a kidnapping. After Witte's lover is suspected and arrested, she commits suicide in her cell. Witte uses this chance and puts all blame on Eva Berner. Nevertheless, Schmücke and Schneider manage to find clear indications against Marco Witte. They confront him with the results of their investigation, whereupon he gives in and confesses to the murder of his wife. Since the bankruptcy of their first restaurant, Witte has only stood in the shadow of his wife, which he could no longer endure in the end. Passlack helped him with the kidnapping.
