action

The friends Caroline, Eva, Estelle and Judith meet again for their monthly Tuesday meeting, which the young mother Kiki has also joined. Eva is late, however, because her mother has just broken her hip and leg falling down stairs and she drove to the hospital with her. Now that she knows that her mother is well taken care of, she and her friends can devote themselves to planning their short vacation without any worries. Although Eva really appreciates good food, it is from her of all people that she suggests planning a fasting holiday. Your ulterior motive is not fasting, but the goal “Burg Rabenfeld”. She hopes to find a clue to her father there, as she recently found a postcard with this address.

The four of them make their way to Franconian Switzerland and look forward to the next seven days of deceleration and purification, far away from everyday office life, city bustle and family stress with mixed feelings. When she arrives at the castle hotel, Eva examines every elderly gentleman she meets with questioning eyes as to whether he is her father. Kiki, the fifth member of the group, wants to travel with her small family herself, but the car goes on strike and so she arrives alone at first. They all rush into their first applications, which only consist of special juices and drive them to the toilet all day long. In the next few days the mood suffers from the sparse fasting menu, gymnastics, silence and handicrafts. Nevertheless, the five do not want to let themselves get down, after all they do all of this voluntarily.

After three days, Kiki's husband arrives with their few month old daughter Greta. He has heard that he may not be Greta's father at all. Without further ado, he leaves the child to Kiki and disappears. So she has to explain herself to the other four. But each of them also has very personal worries, so it is good to talk about them now and to have the support of their friends. Eva is the next to reveal her secret after her mother tried to contact her several times and only ever called the lord of the castle, Leo Falk, whom Regine Beckmann knew from the time she worked at the castle when she was young. Caroline has to come out next when her husband Philipp suddenly appears and she has to confess to her friends that she has reconciled with him. Judith has just discovered that she kissed a woman and that it "didn't feel so bad". Only Estelle seems to have started the journey to the castle without any major grief.

In search of her unknown father, Eva repeatedly meets the slightly confused villager Emmerich. He had taken a lot of photos at the time and so Eva hopes to find clues in old pictures and they now lead to her neighbor Henry Schmitz of all people. After her fasting week comes to an end, Eva is not only expecting her three children and her husband at home, but also her mother. Eva immediately approaches her about her father and explains to her that Henry had also fallen in love with her friend and Olga, whom he later married, which she accepted and in order not to endanger their happy marriage, she had never told Eva who her father was. Ultimately, Eva also has to accept this, who without knowing it always had her father close by.

Friend Kiki is reconciled with her husband, who has realized that only he can be Greta's father because he was there for her from the beginning. Caroline, on the other hand, wants to keep her marriage at a distance because she has found that she has never had so much fun with her husband as she does now. Estelle is happy to fit comfortably into her boutique fashion after the week of fasting and Judith is still looking for her own personal happiness?

Reviews

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv thinks it is overall: “A sympathetic, well-structured film that touches on its topics and - despite the various learning processes of its heroines - ultimately dissolves in a genre-friendly way. Nice entertainment! ”“ The connection between everyday life during the fasting weeks and the life issues of the heroines are plausibly interwoven, but towards the end everything is a bit unmotivated and holterdipolter. This is more likely to be copied from life and has little to do with comedy dramaturgy. That is nice, but in the end it looks artificially turned back. "

The editorial team of TV Spielfilm is of the opinion: "With lively slogans and self-deprecating play, the well-staffed women's five seamlessly builds on the success of the 'Tuesday women' of 2011." Conclusion: "Not earth-shattering, but always likeable."
