The crime series München Mord is a tv60film production for ZDF and ORF . The action takes place in Munich . The series has been running since March 2014 and complements the Saturday thrillers on ZDF and ORF 2, which are each produced in 90 minutes and broadcast on Saturday evenings during prime time.

The main characters of the television series are the chief detective Ludwig Schaller ( Alexander Held ), who would have almost been retired because of his escapades and is now often referred to as "the madman", the unpredictable daredevil Harald Neuhauser ( Marcus Mittermeier ) and the beginner Angelika Flierl ( Bernadette Heerwagen ), who joined this team as the niece of the police chief. The trio are tasked with investigations that others prefer to avoid and use unconventional methods to solve their cases.
