Bédée town hall

Bédée ( Breton : Bezeg ) is a French municipality with 4308 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Montfort-sur-Meu . The inhabitants are called Bédéen .

geography

Bédée is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Rennes on the Garun River , a tributary of the Meu . Bédée is surrounded by the neighboring communities

Lake of Blavon

The National Route 12 runs through the municipality .

history

In the 10th century, the Wallburg (Motte) Jobin was located in today's municipality. In 1122 the Bédée priory was donated to the Sainte-Melaine Abbey in Rennes.
