Saint-Malon-sur-Mel ( Breton : Sant-Malon ; Gallo : Saent-Meha ) is a French municipality with 576 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Montauban-de-Bretagne (until 2015: canton of Saint-Méen-le-Grand ). The inhabitants are called malonnais .

Saint-Malon-sur-Mel is about 30 kilometers west of Rennes . Saint-Malon-sur-Mel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bléruais in the north, Saint-Gonlay in the north and north-east, Iffendic in the east, Paimpont in the south and south-west and Muel in the west and north-west.
