Vern-sur-Seiche ( Breton : Gwern ar Sec'h ) is a commune with 7911 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes , the canton of Janzé and is a member of the Rennes Métropole municipal association . The inhabitants are called Vernois (es) .

geography

The community is located in the greater area nine kilometers southeast of Rennes on the banks of the Seiche River . The neighboring municipalities of Vern-sur-Seiche are Chantepie in the north, Domloup in the northeast, Nouvoitou in the east, Saint-Armel in the southeast, Bourgbarré in the south, Saint-Erblon in the southwest and Noyal-Châtillon-sur-Seiche in the west.

The place has a train station on the Châteaubriant – Rennes railway line .
