Saint-Germain-sur-Ille ( Breton : Sant-Jermen-an-Il , Gallo : Saent-Jermaen-sur-Ill ) is a French commune with 925 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the region of Brittany . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Melesse (until 2015: canton of Saint-Aubin-d'Aubigné ). The inhabitants are called Germinois .
geography
Saint-Germain-sur-Ille is located about 15 kilometers north-north-west of Rennes on the Ille . Saint-Médard-sur-Ille is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Médard-sur-Ille in the north, Saint-Aubin-d'Aubigné in the east and northeast, Chevaigné in the southeast and Melesse in the south and west. The place has a train station on the Rennes – Saint-Malo railway line .
