Montauban-de-Bretagne is a French commune with 5,840 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Montauban-de-Bretagne .
It was created as the Commune nouvelle of the same name with effect from January 1, 2019 by merging the previous municipalities of Montauban-de-Bretagne and Saint-M'Hervon , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Montauban-de-Bretagne.

geography
The municipality is located around 30 kilometers northwest of Rennes and is crossed by the Garun River. It is also affected by the Paris – Brest railway line and Route nationale 12 , which connect both Rennes and Brest (Finistère) . The Forêt domaniale de Montauban nature reserve is located in the municipality .
Neighboring municipalities are Médréac and Landujan in the north, La Chapelle du Lou du Lac in the northeast and east, Bédée and Iffendic in the southeast, Saint-Uniac in the south, Boisgervilly in the southwest, Saint-Onen-la-Chapelle and Le Crouais in the west and Quédillac in the Northwest.
