Saint-Méen-le-Grand is a commune with 4635 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . Administratively, the municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Montauban-de-Bretagne .
geography
The municipality is located around 40 kilometers west of Rennes and 60 kilometers south of Saint-Malo on the border with the Côtes-d'Armor department . Neighboring communities are:
- Quédillac in the north,
- Le Crouais in the east,
- Saint-Onen-la-Chapelle in the south,
- Gaël in the southwest,
- Loscouët-sur-Meu in the west (Dép. Côtes-d'Armor) and
- Plumaugat in the north-west (Dép. Côtes-d'Armor).
The river Garun runs in the north of the municipality , the southern municipality is drained by several small streams to the Meu .
Transport links
The place is accessible from the national route N164. In addition, the place is on the Ploërmel – La Brohinière railway line , in Saint-Méen an industrial area is served by freight trains.

It was not until 1918 that the name was changed from Saint-Méen to Saint-Méen-le-Grand.
