Parthenay-de-Bretagne ( Breton : Parzheneg ) is a French municipality with 1748 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and the Canton of Melesse . The inhabitants are called Parthenaisiens .

Parthenay-de-Bretagne is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Rennes on the Cortadière River. Neighboring communities of Parthenay-de-Bretagne are Romillé in the north and north-west, Gévezé in the east and north-east, La Mézière in the east, Saint-Gilles in the south, Clayea in the west and Pleumeleuc in the north-west.
