Orgères ( Breton : An Heizeg ; Gallo : Orjèrr ) is a French municipality with 4729 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and the Canton of Janzé . The inhabitants are called Orgerois .
geography
Orgères is a banlieue south of Rennes , about fifteen kilometers south of the city center. Orgères is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Erblon in the north and north-east, Bourgbarré in the east and south-east, Chanteloup in the south and south-east, Laillé in the west and south-west and Pont-Péan in the north-west.
On the south-western edge of the municipality, Route nationale 137 runs from Rennes to Nantes .
