Town Hall (Mairie) of Clayes

Clayes ( Breton : Kloued ; Gallo : Claes ) is a French municipality with 904 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Melesse (until 2015: canton of Montfort-sur-Meu ). The inhabitants are called Clayens .

geography

Clayes is about 14 kilometers northwest of Rennes . In the municipal area is the Étang de Clayes , a local recreation area. Clayes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pleumeleuc in the north and west, Parthenay-de-Bretagne in the east and northeast and Saint-Gilles in the south.
