Cesson-Sevigne is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany in northwest France .

The location of the municipality of Cesson-Sévigné in the catchment area of Rennes has given the place a strong population growth. At the beginning of the 1960s, only about 3,500 people lived in the village. By the end of the millennium, the population had more than quadrupled. There are currently 17,526 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
