Muel ( Breton : Moel ; Gallo : Muéu ) is a French municipality with 894 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and the canton of Montauban-de-Bretagne (until 2015: canton of Saint-Méen-le-Grand ).

geography

Muel is located about 35 kilometers west of Rennes on the river Meu . Muel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Onen-la-Chapelle in the north, Saint-Maugan in the east and northeast, Bléruais in the east, Saint-Malon-sur-Mel in the southeast, Paimpont in the south, Concoret in the southwest and Gaël in the west.
