The canton of Saint-Méen-le-Grand was until 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Rennes , in the Département Ille-et-Vilaine and in the region of Brittany ; its main town was Saint-Méen-le-Grand .

history

The canton was established on February 15, 1790. Until 1801 it was called Meen la Forest and from 1801 to 1918 Saint-Méen. From 1801 to 2015, nine municipalities belonged to the canton of Saint-Méen-le-Grand. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the canton was dissolved in 2015 and the communes moved to other cantons.
