The canton of Vitré-Est was a French canton in the Arrondissement Fougères-Vitré , in the Département Ille-et-Vilaine and in the Brittany region until 2015 .

history

The canton was created in 1845 from parts of the previous cantons Vitré-1 and Vitré-2. From 1845 to 2015 ten municipalities belonged to the canton of Vitré-Est. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the canton was dissolved in 2015 and the communes moved to other cantons.

The canton was in the east of the Ille-et-Vilaine department.
