The canton of Bain-de-Bretagne (Breton canton Baen-Veur ) is a French constituency in the Arrondissement of Redon , in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Bain-de-Bretagne .
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015 nine municipalities belonged to the canton of Bain-de-Bretagne (until 1894 only canton Bain). With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of municipalities rose to 20. In 2015, the municipality of Messac moved to the canton of Redon . In addition to the remaining 8 of the 9 municipalities of the old canton of Bain-de-Bretagne, all 8 municipalities of the previous canton of Le Sel-de-Bretagne and all 4 municipalities of the previous canton of Grand-Fougeray were added.

politics
In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Nadine Dréan (DVD) / Yvon Mellet (MoDem) won against Marie Desoize / Thomas Jourdain (both FN ) with 68.81% of the votes (turnout: 51.50%).
