La Couyère ( Breton : Ar Gouer ; Gallo : La Góyèrr ) is a French municipality with 479 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . La Couyère belongs to the Arrondissement of Redon and is part of the canton of Bain-de-Bretagne (until 2015: canton of Le Sel-de-Bretagne ). The inhabitants are called Coverois .

La Couyère is located about 27 kilometers south-southeast of Rennes . La Couyère is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Janzé in the north, Sainte-Colombe in the east, Coësmes in the southeast, Thourie in the south, Lalleu in the south and southwest and Tresbœuf in the west.
