Coësmes ( Breton : Kom , Gallo : Coèsm ) is a French municipality with 1474 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Fougères-Vitré and is part of the canton of La Guerche-de-Bretagne (until 2015: canton of Retiers ). The inhabitants are called Coësmois .

geography

Coësmes is about 30 kilometers southeast of Rennes . Coësmes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Colombe in the north and north-west, Le Theil-de-Bretagne in the north, Retiers in the east and north-east, Martigné-Ferchaud in the east and south-east, Thourie in the south and west and La Couyère in the west and north-west.
