Rives-du-Couesnon is a French commune with 2,858 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the canton of Fougères-1 and the arrondissement of Fougères-Vitré .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities of Saint-Georges-de-Chesné , Saint-Jean-sur-Couesnon , Saint-Marc-sur-Couesnon and Vendel , which are part of the new municipality Have the status of a Commune déléguée . The administrative headquarters are located in Saint-Jean-sur-Couesnon.

geography
The municipality is located around 12 kilometers southwest of Fougères on the A84 motorway . The rivers Couesnon and Général (also called Rivière de Billé ) cross the municipality. Are neighboring communities
- Saint-Hilaire-des-Landes in the north,
- Saint-Sauveur-des-Landes and La Chapelle-Saint-Aubert in the northeast,
