Mecé (on Gallo Meczaé on Breton Mezieg ) is a French municipality with 608 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the Arrondissement Fougères-Vitré and the canton Vitré (until 2015 canton Vitré-Ouest ). The residents call themselves Mécéen.

In the north-west it borders on Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier (point of contact) and Rives-du-Couesnon with Saint-Georges-de-Chesné , in the north on Combourtillé , in the north-east on Montreuil-des-Landes , in the east on Saint-Christophe -des-Bois , to the south on Val-d'Izé and to the west on Livré-sur-Changeon .
