Saint-Georges-de-Chesné ( Breton : Sant-Jord-Kadeneg ; Gallo : Saent-Jord-de-Chiesnae ) is a village and a commune déléguée in the French commune of Rives-du-Couesnon with 714 inhabitants (as of 1. January 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany .
The municipality of Saint-Georges-de-Chesné was merged with Saint-Jean-sur-Couesnon , Saint-Marc-sur-Couesnon and Vendel to form the Commune nouvelle Rives-du-Couesnon on January 1, 2019 . It belonged to the arrondissement Fougères-Vitré and was part of the canton Fougères-1 (until 2015: canton Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier ).

Saint-Georges-de-Chesné is located about 34 kilometers northeast of Rennes . The municipality of Saint-Georges-de-Chesné was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Vendel in the north, Billé in the east and northeast, Combourtillé in the east and southeast, Mecé in the south, Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier in the southwest and Saint-Jean-sur- Couesnon to the west.
