Gennes-sur-Seiche ( Breton : gene ; Gallo : Genn ) is a French municipality with 950 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the arrondissement Fougères-Vitré and is part of the canton of La Guerche-de-Bretagne (until 2015: canton of Argentré-du-Plessis ). The inhabitants are called Gennois .
geography
Gennes-sur-Seiche is located about 39 kilometers east-southeast of Rennes on the Seiche , which borders the municipality in the south. Gennes-sur-Seiche is surrounded by the neighboring communities Argentré-du-Plessis in the north, Brielles in the east, Cuillé in the south, Availles-sur-Seiche in the southwest, Moutiers in the west and southwest and Saint-Germain-du-Pinel in the west.
