Langon ( Breton country Egon ) is a French municipality with 1421 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany .
geography
Langon is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Redon in a loop of the river Vilaine , about one kilometer from the river. The place has a train station on the Rennes – Redon line .
history
In Langon there are the remains of a row of stones from the megalithic culture . This place of worship is called Demoiselles de Langon. The legend speaks of 28 girls who went to dance instead of church and were petrified as a punishment.
