Bain-de-Bretagne ( Breton : Baen-Veur ) is a French municipality with 7331 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . Bain-de-Bretagne belongs to the Arrondissement Redon and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Bain-de-Bretagne . The inhabitants are called Bainais .

geography

Bain-de-Bretagne is located between Rennes and Nantes on the Semnon River . Bain-de-Bretagne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pléchâtel in the north, Pancé and La Bosse-de-Bretagne in the northeast, Ercé-en-Lamée in the east, Saint-Sulpice-des-Landes in the southeast, La Dominelais in the south, and La Noë -Blanche in the southwest and Guipry-Messac with Messac in the west. Route nationale 137 and the former route nationale 772 and 777 as well as the former railway line Châteaubriant – Ploërmel run through the municipality .
