Megalithic systems

Archaeologists particularly know the place for its numerous megalithic structures. These include rows of stones (such as the Alignements du Moulin ), pairs of stones (such as the Demoiselles de Langon ), dolmens with side chambers , the large tumulus of Château Bû (Castle of the Ox), menhirs and tertre tumulaire ( Tumuli de la Croix Saint-Pierre ) and the Four Sarrazin complex , which can be visited on a circular route (Circuit des Mégalithes) in the heather between Saint-Just and Cojoux. The number of local menhirs is the second largest after Carnac . The main characteristic of the facilities of Saint-Just is that some of the monuments erected in the Stone Age were reused in the Bronze Age (more than 1000 years later).
