Pléchâtel ( Breton : Plegastell ) is a French municipality with 2789 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . Pléchâtel belongs to the Arrondissement of Redon and is part of the canton of Bain-de-Bretagne . The inhabitants are called Pléchâtellois .

geography

Pléchâtel is located about 24 kilometers south-southwest of Rennes at the confluence of the Vilaine (western municipal boundary ) and Semnon (northern municipal boundary ). Pléchâtel is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Bourg-des-Comptes in the north, Poligné and Pancé in the east, Bain-de-Bretagne in the south and south-east, Guipry-Messac with Messac in the south-west, Saint-Malo-de-Phily in the west and south-west as well Saint-Senoux to the west and north-west. Route Nationale 127 runs through the municipality . The place has a train station on the Rennes – Redon line .
